Obituary of Elmer Ervin Sedivy

Elmer E. Sedivy, of Waukesha, passed away with his family by his side, on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 95. He was born on August 23, 1921, in Verdigre, NE, the son of the late Felix and Mary (nee Novacek) Sedivy. Elmer proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 8. On April 26, 1945, he married the love of his life, Elaine Warren. Elmer is one of the last few charter members of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha and has always been a very devoted and active member of the church. His love of cars was a lifelong passion. Elmer was a very devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law. He will be deeply missed by his children, Lenard (Connie) of Waukesha and Susan (Craig) Schemberger of Park Falls; grandchildren, Samantha, Cassy, and Andi (Alan) Ellner; brother, Clarence Sedivy of Jennings, FL; and sister-in-law, June Peters of Park Falls, WI. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine. The visitation for Elmer will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St. Waukesha, WI 53188. Rev. Chris Marien will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the church (see address above).
