Obituary of Phyllis M. Carpenter

Phyllis M. Carpenter Of New Berlin, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at her home at the age of 83. Phyllis was born on May 26, 1927 the daughter of William and Flora Lord. She married the love of her life, Daniel "Dan" Carpenter on July 16, 1949, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bayview, WI. Phyllis retired from Wisconsin Bell after 20 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a devoted volunteer to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Annual Telethon at the Waukesha Center. She was a "sports grandma" who was an avid Packer fan. Phyllis also enjoyed playing cards, reading, and collecting crystal bells and candles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family - especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Phyllis will be dearly missed by her children, David (Patricia) Carpenter of Waukesha, Daniel "Danny" (Pamela) Carpenter of Brookfield, Dennis (Sue) Carpenter of Nashotah, Susan "Susie" Carpenter (Ted Mastos) of Hudson, Sally (Anthony) Gapinski of Waukesha, Paula (Mitch) Hintz of Waukesha, and Peter (Lisa) Carpenter of Wauwatosa; grandchildren, Jay, Ryan, Matthew (Melissa), Daniel II, Chad (Julie) and Kyle Carpenter, Trista (Keith), Troy, Taryn, and Tiarra Mae Gapinski, and Joshua, Jeremy, and Joseph Hintz; great-grandchildren, Ty Carpenter, Alexandra Gapinski, Taven and Kaelyn Putnins; and brother, David (the late Marge) Lord of Neillsville. Phyllis is further survived by other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel "Dan," grandson, Christopher, parents, and brothers, William and Marvin. The funeral service for Phyllis will be held on Friday, March 11, at 11:00AM at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI.
