Obituary of Theodore E. Dobson

Theodore E. "Ted" Dobson Of Waukesha, passed away on August 5, 2011 surrounded by his family at AngelsGrace Hospice, at the age of 73 years. Ted was born on January 11, 1938, in Waterford, WI to Adolph and Naoma (nee Jones) Dobson. Ted married his wife, Laurayne L. (nee Lerdahl) on June 7, 1958. Ted worked for over 33 years at Waukesha Water Utility and retired in 1996. Ted was also a dedicated worker for many years at Federal Windows and at Waukesha Asbestos. He was extremely involved with the Boy Scouts from 1972-1976 (Pack 22) in which he served as an Assistant Cub Master, Cub Master, and district committee member. Ted enjoyed attending auctions and selling antiques. He and Laurayne loved travelling to California to visit their oldest daughter and her family, as well as travelling to Michigan to visit their oldest son and his family. Over the years, they were able to travel with and support their grandson's Tae Kwon Do team. Ted cheered for his grandchildren while watching their activities; basketball, baseball, wrestling, volleyball, dance recitals, piano recitals, 4-H competitions and all their other school activities. Ted will be greatly missed by his loving wife Laurayne; his children, Rochell (William) Gotham of Neenah, Robin (Kenneth) Ristau of Waukesha, Robert (Kristel) Dobson of Canton, Michigan, and Roger (Rachelanne) Dobson of Johnson Creek; his eight grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandria, Arron, Kaya, Brianna, Andrea, Annah and Connor; his two great granddaughters Robin and Sophia; his brothers, James "Jim" Dobson of Union Grove, Jerry (Sarah) Dobson of Jefferson, Duane (Darlene) Dobson of Jefferson, and Mike (Cindy) Dobson of Boscobel; his sisters, Donna (Bill) Stark of Lake Mills, Margaret Wallin of Boscobel, and Kathy (Ervin) Steiner of Jefferson; and his many other relatives and friends. Ted was preceded in death by his parents. The visitation for Ted will be held on Thursday, August 11 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. A second visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, August 12 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home. The Rev. Pete Peterson will be officiating the service. Interment to immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Cancer Care Unit, 725 American Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53188 or to AngelsGrace Hospice, W359 N7430 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Ted's family wishes to thank Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Dr. Hake, the Regional Cancer Center staff, the Oncology Department, Dr. Clapper, Dr. O'Malley and the entire staff at AngelsGrace Hospice for the wonderful care Ted has received in the last 19 months.
