Floy G. Ballweg
Of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2011 at her home at Oak Hill Terrace at
the age 96. Floy was born on August 9, 1915 in Wisconsin to H. Nels and Violet (nee Clough)
Petersen. Floy married Carl Ballweg in 1936 and they moved to Waukesha in 1941. She was a
well-known waitress at several restaurants in the Waukesha area and was an excellent cook and
baker. Floy was a dedicated volunteer for Waukesha's Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP)
and received several awards for her commitment to the program. She always found a new craft
project to work on or another afghan or baby cap to crochet.
Floy will be dearly missed by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Bill Tracy of
Davenport, Iowa; her two grandchildren, Chris Tracy (Samantha Shafer) of Davenport, Iowa and
Liz Tracy (Matt Meyer) of Bettendorf, Iowa; her great-granddaughter, Alexis Tracy; her niece,
Lois Bowman; her two nephews, Lee Petersen and Wayne Petersen; three very special women
who touched her life, Holly Patterson, Willie Lawrence and Lucille Dostie; and many other family
and friends. Floy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; brothers, Bernard
Petersen, Herbert Petersen and Robert Petersen; and her niece, Rita.
A visitation gathering will be from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Wednesday,
September 28, 2011 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd.,
Waukesha, WI 53188. Reverend Pete Peterson will be officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove
Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
