Obituary of Evelyn A. Geis
Evelyn A. Geis (nee Christiansen)
Evelyn A. Geis (nee Christiansen), of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, January 3,
2012, at LindenGrove, New Berlin, at the age of 90 years. Evelyn was born on
February 13, 1921, a daughter of the late Carl and Annie Christiansen. Evelyn
was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Waukesha. She
married the love of her life, Edward Geis, on August 24, 1940. Together they
owned and operated the Whippoorwill Lodge in Townsend, Wisconsin. Evelyn
enjoyed playing cards and watching the Packers and Brewers. Her greatest joy
was spending time with her family.
Evelyn will be dearly missed by her daughters, Judy (Charles) Venzke and Joyce
(Richard) Merz; grandchildren, Kevin (Sonja), Steven, David (Doreen), Debbie
(Andres), Ed (Amy), Brian (Shelly); great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Daniel, Edward,
Andrew, Erica, Alex, Jason, Brett, Kelly and Eliana. Evelyn is further survived by
other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward,
parents, brothers, Larry and Arthur, and sisters, Esther and Vera.
The visitation for Evelyn will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral
service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Cesarz, Charapata &
Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The
Reverend Rachel Chingej will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the
service at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials to
