Obituary of Ruth E. Schwartz

Ruth E. Schwartz Of Cedarburg, died on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Horizon Hospice Inpatient Unit of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, Ozaukee at the age of 94 years. Ruth was born in Russell, Iowa on April 10, 1917, a daughter of Lester and Artie Horton. She was an active member of the Community United Methodist Church in Cedarburg. Ruth was a reading teacher who taught for over 50 years. She greatly enjoyed teaching and spending time with her students. In her later years, Ruth found her calling as a volunteer. She was the past president of Ozaukee County Interfaith. Ruth was an Advisory Council Member of the Southeastern Wisconsin Area Agency on Aging and the Ozaukee County Commission on Aging. She was also an active member of the investment clubs and various other non-profit organizations she volunteered with. Ruth was the loving mother of, Joy (Pete) Peterson; the dear friend of, Caroline (Terry) Trotier, Kathy (Fred) Cutting and Tom (Noriko) Behling and their extended families; she is further survived by many of her close friends at church and within the community. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert "Bud"; and her best friend, Eleanor. A visitation for Ruth will be from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Wisconsin Memorial Park -Chapel of The Chimes, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005. A private family burial will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated by the family to the Community United Methodist Church, W68 N563 Evergreen Blvd., Cedarburg, WI 53012.
