Obituary of Quentin W. Swain
Quentin W. Swain
Of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the age of 80 years. Quentin
was born in Milwaukee on October 30, 1931, son of Clarence and Bibianna
"Bessie" Swain. He was in the 1949 graduating class of Marquette University High
School. Quentin went on to graduate from the U.W.-Madison with a B.S. in
Journalism and Advertising. He married Kathleen Calteaux on June 17, 1961.
Quentin was a Co-owner of Milwaukee Map Service Incorporated for over 40
years and will always be remembered as the "Map Man." He was a past president
of the Southeast Wisconsin Trout Unlimited Club and of the Wauwatosa Curling
Club. Quentin was also a member of WISCA and St. William Catholic Church,
Waukesha. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the
Korean conflict.
Quentin will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathleen; children, Daniel (Suzanne)
Swain, Jean (George) Gama, Marguerite (Robert) Pfaff and Patricia Neder;
grandchildren, Zachary, Shannon, Katie, Elizabeth, Emily, Hannah, Charly, and
Nathan; brothers, Charles (Lucille), Paul (Joanne), and Jan; sister, Clare (Joseph)
Cvitash. Quentin is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sr. Kathleen
Swain, SSSF.
The visitation for Quentin will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00
a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at St. William Catholic
Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Curt
Frederick will be officiating. A private family burial will be held at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Milwaukee. Memorials are appreciated to the St. Vincent de Paul
Society - St. William Conference, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.
