Obituary of Mary Ellen Heinz

Mary Ellen Heinz Of Waukesha, WI died peacefully in her sleep at LindenGrove Health Care Facility th on Friday, May 11, 2012 just two weeks shy of her 84 birthday. She was born on May 28, 1928 in Madison, Wisconsin to John and Nelly (Nolan) Flad. She married Lawrence J. Heinz on September 5, 1953. Mary was a member of the Red Hat Society and a quilting club for many years, and she worked at Martha Merrells Bookstore. She loved gardening, reading, sewing, and gathering with friends. She graduated from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa (1950) with a BA in Social Work and worked as a social worker until her first child was born. Mary was most recently a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Waukesha and a formerly a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waukesha. Mary will be dearly missed by her children, Thomas (Carole) Heinz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Beth Heinz of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Patty Heinz of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lawrence (Deborah) Heinz of Pittsboro, Indiana and her grandchildren: Ian Heinz, Megan Hoff, Jaclyn Heinz, Miranda Heinz and Alexandra Heinz. She is further survived by her sister Jeannie Ford, her sister-in-law, Pat Flad, and many other family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. Heinz, on June 20, 2008. A visitation for Mary will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. A second visitation will begin on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with a formal procession to church leaving at 10:30 a.m. The 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the procession on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Hwy 59, Waukesha, WI 53189. The Reverend Jim Vojtik will be officiating the service. A private family inurnment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated by the family in Mary's name to: LindenGrove Foundation, 13700 W. National Ave., New Berlin, WI 53151(Waukesha Location). The family would like to acknowledge the staff at LindenGrove for the wonderful care they gave Mary during the past four years, the nursing staff of Seasons Hospice, and Ann Ulatt for her kind presence throughout it all.
