Obituary of Alice M. Gates

Alice M. Gates Of Waukesha, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family at LindenGrove, Waukesha, on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the age of 84 years. Alice was born in Hatley, WI on October 6, 1927, the daughter of Bernard and Martha Yach. Alice married Ralph Gates, and they had five children together. Alice was self-employed as a seamstress making custom draperies for many years. She was a dedicated member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha for over 60 years, where she was a Christian Mother and a longtime volunteer at LindenGrove - Waukesha. More than anything, Alice loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her children, David (Donna) Gates of Libertyville, IL, Darryl (Sue) Gates of Springfield, MO, Dean (Kathy) Gates of Wauwatosa, WI, and Dana Gates of Waukesha, WI; her six grandchildren, Alex, Katie, Morgan, Megan, Laura and Deborah; her nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, Myron (Jeanne)Yach of Milwaukee, WI and Ronald (Mary) Yach of West Plains, MO; her sister, Janice (Dick) Decker of Indiana and many family and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, Daniel; parents; and brothers, Leander and Irving; sisters, Bernita, Gladys and Delia. A visitation for Alice will be from 9:00 until 10:30 AM Friday, May 18, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 18, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188 (please meet at the church). Burial will immediately follow the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, masses in Alice 's name are appreciated.
