Obituary of Clifford Leroy Ellifson

Cliff Ellifson (age 92) passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 after a nearly two year battle with cancer. Cliff was born in Blair, Wisconsin on June 20, 1920, the son of Eddie and Nettie (nee Strand) Ellifson. He married Tina Gunderson on February 2, 1952. Cliff was a long time resident of Waukesha and a 55 year member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was a WWII veteran serving in Europe with the United States Army Air Force from 1941-1945. Cliff served with the Honor of Flight for World War II veterans. He retired in 1982 with 34 years of service from C&J Auto Transport, Inc. Cliff then worked part time, with John Weber and Cesarz, Charapata, & Zinnecker Funeral Home. Survivors include, his wife, of 60 years, Tina (nee Gunderson); his sons, Ronald (Joel') Ellifson and Michael (Jennifer Karlsson) Ellifson; his daughter, Denise (Larry) Jones; his grandchildren, Samantha (Mike Pollich) Jones, Seth Jones, Blair Karlsson-Ellifson and Grant Karlsson-Ellifson. He is further survived by his brothers, Edner Ellifson and James Ellifson; his sister, Emily Berg; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernal, Howard, Jerry and Archie; his sister, Adeline Skoug; and his granddaughter, Lea Ellifson. The visitation for Cliff will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. There will be a second visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the 12:00 PM (noon) funeral service on Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Andy Fetters will officiate the service. The entombment will immediately follow the service in the Autumn Garden at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. There will be full military honors at the cemetery in honor of Cliff's service to our country. Memorials are suggested to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church (address above).
