Obituary of Joseph K. Vaichinger

Joseph K. Vaichinger "Joey" of Waukesha, after a lifelong battle of cancer, died peacefully with his family at his side at Children's Hospital on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the age of 17 years. Joey was born on May 31, 1995, the son of Kenneth and Debra (nee Bohrer) Vaichinger. He was a junior at Waukesha North High School. Joey enjoyed playing Volleyball as a freshman; and was a "Huge" Brewers Fan. Joey always remained positive during his 15 year battle; never showing fear, and was an inspiration for many other's that have faced cancer. He cared for others more than himself. Joey will be sadly missed by his loving parents; siblings, Anthony "Tony", William "Billy" and Thomas "Tommy" Vaichinger; grandparents, Walter Bohrer, Estelle Vaichinger and Kenneth (June) Vaichinger. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends. Joey is the proud God Father of Annabelle Grace Saddy. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Ann Bohrer. The visitation for Joey will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. Interment will be private at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Bend, WI. Memorials to the Vaichinger family, or MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, (in Joey's Name), 10000 W. Innovation Drive Ste. 135 Milwaukee, WI 53226 appreciated. The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff at Children's Hospital for the years of care they gave to Joey.
