Obituary of Mildred M. Zimdars

Of Pewaukee, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the age of 92 years. Mildred was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on March 6, 1920, the daughter of Emil and Ida (nee Buth) Leeder. She married the love of her life, Harvey W. Zimdars, on October 26, 1940 at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ. Mildred was a lifetime member of the church and was baptized, confirmed and married there. She met Harvey while singing in the church choir. As a member of the church, Mildred was very involved with many organizations, including teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed playing the organ, bowling, gardening; and she was also a wonderful cook. More than anything, Mildred loved to spend time with her family at her home on the lake. Mildred will be dearly missed by her daughters, Katherine (Clyde) Robinson of Palatine, Illinois and Carol (Gordy) Austin of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Nathan (Sara) Robinson, Bradley Robinson, Christopher (Brittany) Robinson, Jodi (Charles) Emery, James (Heather) Patzer and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Patzer; and her great-grandchildren, Jason Robinson, Isabelle Robinson, Evan Patzer, Ava Patzer and two more great-grandchildren to be born soon. She is further survived by her brother, Melvin (Betty) Leeder of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and many other family and friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Harvey and her sister, Arvilla (Earl) Howell. The visitation for Mildred will be from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. The Reverends James Gorman and Ralph Schultz will officiate the service. There will be a private family burial for Mildred on Friday, November 30, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mildred's name are appreciated to the Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ Rebuilding Fund (address above). Mildred's family would like to thank the caring staff at Cecelia Place and Seasons Hospice for their compassion.
