Obituary of Earl W. Lange

Earl W. Lange, of Waukesha, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born on July 1, 1927 in Manitowoc, WI the son of Irving and Hilda (nee Zappe) Lange. Earl was an operating engineer for Maretech Construction for many years. He was a volunteer firefighter, serving as Assistant Chief, for over 15 years for the town of Waukesha. He enjoyed racing stock cars and even served on the Fire Safety Crew at State Fair Park for many years. Earl was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, bowling and gambling. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and friends. Earl will be deeply missed by his sons James E. (Carol) Lange and Kenneth E. (Vikki) Lange; grandchildren Angie Lange and Nicole (Brian) Lanting; step-grandchildren Vickie Tuft, Joey Butterfield, Debbie Reichert, and Fred Butterfield; great-grandchild Brittney Lange; 12 step-great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild Selena Lange; 14 step-great-great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Maretech; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, JoAnn, his parents and his sister, Genevieve Lentz. The visitation for Earl will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Pete Peterson will officiate. Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.
