Obituary of Joseph R. Foley

Joseph Raymond Foley "Ray" of Waukesha, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the age of 80 after a long illness. He was born in Waukesha on June 9, 1933, to Joseph Wafer and Mary Elizabeth (Cook) Foley. Ray attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and was a graduate of Waukesha High School. Ray was a graduate of Carroll College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He was united in marriage on January 5, 1957 at St. Joseph Catholic Church to the former Clarice Ilene Pajari. Ray was a long time employee of Payco American where he was employed as a Data Systems Analyst. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church. Ray was an avid Brewer Fan. He enjoyed playing golf, tennis and baseball. Ray appreciated and loved music as well as photography. He is survived by his wife Clarice, daughters; Paula (Bob) Tillen of Milwaukee, Martha (Jeff) Schaefer of Platteville, Laura Foley of Waukesha; grandchildren, Daniel Foley of Norman, OK, Matthew and Rachel Schaefer of Platteville; Honorary grandson, Mathieu Bernal of Koblenz, Germany; sisters, Pat (Dr. Ron) Love of Minnesota, Betsy Foley of Green Bay, WI, Alice Foley of Milwaukee, Mickey Foley of Minnesota; and brother, John Foley of Sussex. Ray is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Kathi Wingert. The visitation for Ray will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. Memorial Mass on Friday, July 12, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Kevin Barnekow will be officiating. Full military honors to follow. In celebration of Ray's life there will be a luncheon and fellowship in the church hall immediately following the mass. Private inurnment will take place on Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Ray may be directed to the Paula Foley Tillen Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund is for students who are actively pursuing music at Pius XI High School, and wish to deepen their pursuit by studying vocal or instrumental music privately.
