Obituary of Joan C. Gleason

Joan Gleason, of Waukesha, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 71. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 5, 1942 the daughter of George and Helen (Lindquist) Makela. Joan was united in marriage to James Gleason in Illinois on June 29, 1965. Since 1975, Joan and Jim have made their home in Waukesha. Joan enjoyed long walks and spending time outdoors. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joan is survived by her loving husband, James, beloved mother to Joni Hahn and James T. Gleason and cherished Nana to Dustin and Ashley Hahn. Also surviving is her former son-in-law; William Hahn, and one brother; Bruce Makela. Joan is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her best friend of 67 years, Judy Stull. Private services were held. Interment was at Prairie Home Cemetery.
