Obituary of Bruce E. Sturgen

Bruce E. Sturgen of Waukesha passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the age of 45 years. He was born in Eugene, OR, the son of George Winston and Nancy (Otto) Sturgen. Bruce was a 1986 graduate of Delevan/Darien High School where he was active in the Decca Club. He was an Eagle Scout. Bruce attended UW Madison and MSOE. He was an IT designer, software architect as well as a consultant for many businesses around the world. Bruce's colleagues considered him a Guru in his field and he was known for his brilliance. Bruce was a fantastic chef, researching and studying how to make dishes taste just a little better. His great personality and sense of humor were enjoyed by all. Bruce enjoyed learning about music, language and culture, but most of all he loved his family and had a lot of wonderful friends. Bruce will be dearly missed by his daughter, Angelica Sturgen; former wife, Ivy E. Sturgen; uncle, Ralph (Elizabeth) Sturgen; aunt, Judith Sturgen Gardner; cousins, Scott, Alan, Wendy and Michele; former mother-in-law, Patricia Lundberg; former sister-in-law, Claire (Lee) Layton; former brothers-in-law, Sam Phelps and Lloyd (Katherine) Phelps. He is further survived other relatives and many friends. Visitation and services were held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Cesarz, Charapata, and Zinnecker Funeral Home.
