Obituary of Janet B. Ehlinger

Janet B. Ehlinger of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at her home at the age of 76 years. She was born on July 1, 1937 in Oconto Falls, WI and was the daughter of John E. and Christine B. (Boes) Magnin. Janet was a 1959 graduate of UW-Stevens Point where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Home Economics. She worked as a UW Extension Home Agent with Marquette County for one year and was then employed for three years as a Home Economics teacher at Luxemburg High School. She subsequently married Paul J. Ehlinger in August 1964 and they raised their two sons together in Waukesha, WI. Janet was a member of St. William Catholic Church since 1971 and a member of the Christian Mothers since 1972. Janet enjoyed baking (especially bread, cinnamon rolls, popovers, gingerbread, and numerous varieties of cookies), knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, genealogy, and spending time with friends and family. Surviving are her sons David (Deborah) Ehlinger of Franklin, WI and Bruce Ehlinger of Madison, WI and her six grandchildren, Alexander Ehlinger, Ivyanne Elborough, Margaret Elborough, Matthew Ehlinger, Jessica Ehlinger and Grace Elborough. Her surviving siblings are Ann Buss of Lynchburg, VA, Dean (Mary) Magnin of Marinette, WI, Hugh (Sharon) Magnin of Lena, WI, and Glenn (Carol) Magnin of Lena, WI. In addition, she is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Magnin, Martha Becker, Jeanne Vandenbush, and Margaret Ann Krentz. Janet is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Casey), and her loving husband Paul in 2001. The visitation for Janet will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. at Cesarz, Charapata, & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha. A second visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI. The Reverend Kevin Barnekow will be officiating. Burial will be private at a later date at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI.
