Obituary of Karen Sue Duffy

Karen S. Duffy of Waukesha passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the age of 59 years, after a two and a half years battle with ALS. Karen was born on July 5, 1954, in Waukesha, the daughter of Roy and Mary(nee Cluley) Grace. She was united in marriage to Timothy H. Duffy on October 5, 1974. Karen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was active on the parish council. She work for 26 years at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in the admitting and registration area; she later worked at Froedtert Memorial Hospital for 12 years. Karen was an avid reader, baseball and football fan. She also enjoyed knitting and bowling. Most of all Karen loved taking care of her boys. Karen will be sadly missed by her husband, Tim of 39 years; her sons, Brian Duffy and Justin Duffy; her brother James (Karen) Grace; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck (Julie) Rohrer, Cindy (the late Dennis) Waldvogel, Ken (Gerry)Duffy, Judy (Marty) Waldvogel, Kevin (Carey) Duffy and Colleen( Al) Gelhausen. She is further survived by many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen is preceded in death by her parents. The visitation for Karen will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 p.m. memorial service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the family for a charity of their choice. The burial will take place privately at a later date. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing staff at Heartland Hospice, Synergy Home Health Care and the Froedtert ALS nurses and staff.
