Obituary of Jerome W. Bernhardt

Jerry W. Bernhardt died peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Lynnwood of Delafield at the age of 75 years. He was born on August 30, 1938, in Brookfield, WI, the son of William and Loretta Bernhardt. Jerry was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He was a drummer from the time he was a young boy, and played throughout his commission in the Air Force and well into his life as a member of a local Milwaukee band. Jerry was employed by Railway Express Agency (REA) and Waukesha County, from which he retired in the mid 90's, thereafter traveling extensively. He resided in Johnson City, Tennessee for a period of time, but returned to Waukesha County in 2006. Jerry was also a longtime volunteer to political candidates, freely volunteering many hours of service. Perhaps the one thing that best defines Jerry is his devotion to the Green Bay Packers. Jerry will be missed by his children, William "Bill" (Diane) Bernhardt, Kim (Kevin) Jacques, Mary Bernhardt-Luedtke, Carol Lamarche, Mike (Tracy) Bernhardt and Paula (Dan) Oldenborg; his fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Kloman and is further survived by his loving companion & dear friend, Cynthia Swedell. The services for Jerry will be held privately at Southern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI with full military honors.
