Obituary of W. Lawrence Shrode

Of Delafield, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 7, 2014, at the age of 77 years. Larry was born in Grandview, IN, on June 27, 1936, son of Harry and Carrie Shrode. He was longtime Organist and member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa, WI. Larry was a talented musician who enjoyed attending a variety of musical performances. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, knitting, and spending time outdoors camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Larry was dearly loved by all who knew him. Larry is survived by his children, Stacey (Dann) Bormann and Cindy (Dan) Wolf; grandchildren, Stephen Bormann, Hailey Bormann, and Austin Wolf; former wife and friend, Sue Shrode; brother, Raymond (Elaine) Shrode; sister, Marilyn (Larry) Wall; and cousin, Ruth (the late Eric) Andersen. Larry is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents. The visitation for Larry will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 3:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 12012 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of the donor's choice are appreciated. Private burial will take place in Menominee, MI.
