Obituary of John G. Rasmussen

John G. Rasmussen passed away April 3, 2014. He was born in Madison on August 10,1956, the son of Jim and H.G. Rasmussen. He spent his life in Waukesha and attended St. Mary's Grade School, Catholic Memorial High School and graduated with honors from Carroll University, with a double major in English and History. He will be deeply missed by his companion, Shirley and her son Andy, and his family and many friends. Family always came first in his heart- his two sisters, Margaret Rose and Amy; his brothers, Mike and Kif and their beloved spouses, Jason, Mary and Mary Mc; his nephew, Michael and nieces, Beatrice and Charlotte. John was a remarkable man. Two words defined him- Brilliant and Loving. He loved music, art and books. There wasn't anything that you could ask him that he didn't have an answer for. He could even sing. John was always there to protect and care for those who needed it from age four on- from the little girl being bullied to helping the elderly lady cross the street in the snow. He enjoyed weekends on the Mississippi with his father and brothers- duck hunting and fishing, many days at the Waukesha Gun Club and hunting at Mud Lake. His parents will miss him all the days of their lives. John loved life and those of us who are in it love him. The visitation for John will be held on April 10, 2014 from 9 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave, Waukesha, WI. 53186. The Rev. Howard Haase will be officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
