Obituary of Maxine L. Linton

Maxine L. Linton of Waukesha, a beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, March 14, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Maxine was born in Montfort, WI, on January 22, 1925, the daughter of Lars and Mabel (nee Broaden) Ohnstad. She graduated from Madison Central High School in 1943, and married the love of her life, Harry Linton, on November 6, 1943. They made their home in Dayton, OH and Georgia before they later moved to Watertown. In 1972, they settled in Waukesha, WI. Maxine had been a buyer at Roshek's Department Store in Dubuque, IA. While she was a homemaker, Maxine earned an accounting degree. She was later involved in child care and took great care of her grandchildren. Maxine was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown and Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Waukesha, WI where she had participated in the Ladies Church Circle and bible studies. Maxine was a devoted wife for 40 years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Maxine will be remembered for her strength and unconditional love. Surviving are her loving children, Marcia Anne Linton of Waukesha, Lisa Dawn (David) Gates of New Berlin, and Erica Jean (Robert) Wendelberger of Wauwatosa, WI, three grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Vogds of New Berlin, Charles Wendelberger, and Megan Wendelberger both of Wauwatosa. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Harry E. Linton. The visitation for Maxine will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Cesarz, Charapata, and Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, Wisconsin 53188. Dr. Tundull Stewart will be officiating. Entombment will be private at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in the honor of Maxine may be given to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2514 S. 102nd St. Suite 276, West Allis, WI, 53227. Maxine's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the compassionate care given to their mother by the hospice staff, Dr. Rose Franco, Dr. Mary Ann Papp and their incredible staff at Froedtert Lutheran Hospital.
