Obituary of Vernon H. Mickow rev.

Rev. Vernon H. Mickow, of Waukesha, faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side at the age of 86. Vernon was born on May 25, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Herman and Lucy (Schmidt). He proudly served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy. Vernon received his Masters from Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN and was a minister of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, serving congregations in Baudette, MN; Rainy River, Ontario Canada; Fort Wayne, IN; Granville, OH; Newark OH; Hazen, ND; Kingfisher, OK and Sussex, WI. Vernon will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Grace; children, Lucy (Darrell) Douglas of St. Charles, IA, Laurie Mickow Bartels of Milwaukee and Daniel Mickow of Waukesha; grandchildren, Ian, Luther D, Jason, Cody and Zach; three great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Robert) Chapman of Safford, AZ; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Mickow of Oklahoma and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Luther. The visitation for Rev. Vernon Mickow will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the 12:00 NOON funeral service at Christ the Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3031 Summit Ave, Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Timmothy Heath will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service.
