Obituary of Dewayne Gilpatrick

Dewayne Gilpatrick, of Waukesha, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2014 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 37. He was born on July 27, 1976 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the son of Teston and Josephine (Willis) Gilpatrick. At the age of 16, his family moved to Purcell, OK and in 1995 he graduated from Noble High School. After graduating from high school, he studied Physical Education at Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City until 1999. Dewayne loved soccer and played forward with the Dallas Rattlers, the Kansas City Comets, the Witchita Wings, and finally the Milwaukee Wave from 2001-2003. He was a Soccer Coach for Strike F.C., S.C. Waukesha, Waukesha West High School and the Whitefish Bay Soccer Club and a Soccer Referee at Brookfield Indoor Soccer and for various outdoor leagues. Above all, Dewayne loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Teston and Josephine (Willis) Gilpatrick of Livingston, Tennessee; children, Andrew and Ava Gilpatrick; sister, Melissa Gilpatrick of Palm Coast, Fl; paternal grandparents, Elmo and Dimple Gilpatrick; 3 nieces, Patricia, Gabriela and Isabella; nephew, Kelby; and many other loving relatives and friends. Dewayne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Jewell Willis. The visitation for Dewayne will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until the time of the 7:00 P.M. Memorial Service at the Salvation Army Chapel, 445 Madison St. Waukesha, WI. 53188. Major Carol Lemirand will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Dewayne may be given to the family.
