Obituary of Susan L. Kerr

Of Mukwonago, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the age of 54 years. Susie was born on April 19, 1960 and is the eldest daughter of Roger and Sheila (Philbrick) Martens. She attended Mukwonago High School and started her career in housekeeping at Alpine Valley Resort and later at the Fairfield Inn of Brookfield. For many years, she was a dedicated employee of the Waukesha Freeman in their circulation department and delivery. Susie was the anchor and the rock of her family. She was "the mom" to everyone and loved, accepted and welcomed everyone into her home. She cared for them as if they were her own and always put others before herself. Susie also expressed her love for the family through cooking and family celebrations. Susie was the loving mother of her two sons, Patrick and Nicholas (Dana Sue), both of Mukwonago; eldest daughter of Roger and Shelia Martens; sister of Kathy (Chuck) Ludwig, Kenny Martens, Jody (Jon) Comer and Krista Brookins; aunt of Chaz, Dusty, Dylan, Derrick, Danial and Makayla; longtime friend and fiancé Cory Klatt. She is further survived by her former husband, Larry Kerr and the greatly extended family and friends. There will be a memorial for Susie on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Mukwonago County Park on County Highway LO in Mukwonago. Memorials are appreciated to the family of Susie.
