Obituary of William Bell
William "Bill" I. Bell of Waukesha, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the age of 90. Bill was born on January 8, 1924 in Haney, WI, the son of Lynn and Mae (Whiteaker) Bell. Bill served in the Unites States Army in the South Pacific during World War II. After service, he attended trade school in Minneapolis. He married the love of his life, Helen McCormick on April 19, 1947. Bill worked for the Milwaukee Road R.R. for 38 years. The last 19 years of that time were spent as freight agent in Waukesha. He was the past commander of the Cecil Jones VFW post in Monroe, WI and was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus, where he held many offices and was also a member of the Holy Name Society where he volunteered in many areas. Bill was also a longtime member of St. Joesph Parish and was currently a member of St. Bruno Parish.
William will be sadly missed by his children; Stephen (Andrea) of Golden, CO, Michael (Karen) of Waukesha, Joseph (Sheri) of Lake Mills, Catherine (Greg) Kneusel of Delafield, Elizabeth (George) Neitzel of Delafield, Margaret "Peggy" Bell (Rob Hase) of Pewaukee; son-in-law, James Barbi of Ridgewood, NJ; grandchildren, Aaron, Patrick, Bridgid, Matthew, Sara, Keely, Samantha, Abbi, Hillary, Dylan, Dustin, Emily, Jacob, Gretchen, Sam, Max, Zachary, Hali, Hannah, Mick and Billy; Siblings, Avalon Paulson, Joyce Moore, Richard (Betty) Bell, Nancy Mikkelson, Gary (Phyllis) Bell, Linda (Rodney) Burkum; and an extensive network of relatives and friends, including those at Three Pillars. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; daughter, Rebecca; brothers, Stuart, Daryll, Lynn and Robert; and sisters, Bonnie and Shirley.
The visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bruno Catholic Parish, 226 West Ottawa Ave, Dousman, WI. 53118. The Rev. Ralph Gross will be officiating. Inurnment will occur at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name are appreciated to the ALS Association Wisconsin Chapter, 3333 North Mayfair Rd. Suite #213, Wauwatosa, WI 53222
