Obituary of Richard E. McGuire

Richard E. "Mac" McGuire, of Arkdale, formerly of Waukesha, died peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2014 at his residence at the age of 91. Mac was born on September 8, 1923 in Rock Port, Missouri to Jess McGuire and Nora Bell Grabel. He married Janice M. Olson on June 27, 1955 in MN. Mac enjoyed model ship building, HO gage model railroading, traveling, drawing, woodworking, writing books and was a published author. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He greatly enjoyed his relationships with family and friends. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of the American Legion Post #250. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janice McGuire of Arkdale, Wisconsin; his children, Bonnie (Gary) Wandel of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Dannie (Mary) McGuire of Shawano, Wisconsin, Cathie Anich of Phoenix, Arizona and Shaun (Kristie) McGuire of Bozeman, Montana; Grandchildren: Kimmy McGuire, Ryan McGuire, Zachery (Phavika) Howard, Ashley Howard, David Howard, Jason McGuire, Meredith McGuire, Carissa Anich, Maranda Anich, Tristan Mehmke, and Lily Mehmke; Great-Grandchildren, Savannah Rohda, Hunter Rohda, Nathaniel McGuire, Riannon McGuire and Ava Fassbender. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, and his son-in-law, Mark Anich. The visitation for Mac will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the 11:00 A.M. memorial service at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave. Waukesha, WI. 53188. The Rev. D. Andrew Fetters will be officiating. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
