Obituary of Re Matalonis

Evamarie "Re" Matalonis Re Matalonis, of Dousman, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family and friends after a long and challenging journey but as expected, she was strong and fought till the end on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the age of 54. Re was born on September 15, 1960 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Paul and Nancy Matalonis. In 1978, she graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Illinois and from Western Illinois University in Macomb in 1983. Re worked at Aldi in management for many years and loved her job and Aldi family dearly. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and was a passionate reader, athlete and outdoorswoman. Re loved Christmas, camping, traveling, great food, good wine, and lively conversation. Family and friends were absolutely everything to her and she adored her two dogs, Emma and Jessie. She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her wife, partner and best friend of 27 years, Jackie Crescio, who she loved deeply; father and mother: Paul and Nancy Matalonis; sister and brothers: Rose Treml (Joe), Paul Matalonis (Kathy), David Matalonis (Anne); nieces and nephews: Keri Treml, Colan Treml, Samantha Matalonis, Jamisan Matalonis, Rick Von Drasek, Randy Von Drasek, Steve Von Drasek, Lori Von Drasek; sisters-in-law: Linda Von Drasek and Cheryl May (Richie); brother-in-law: Phil Crescio (San); and many truly amazing friends. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Nolan Treml. A gathering of family and friends for this amazing woman will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. sharing celebration at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N.
