Obituary of Walter Evert

Walter R. Evert, known affectionately as "Waukesha Wally," passed away on December 14, 2023, at the age of 88. Born on November 19, 1935, in Pewaukee, WI, he graduated from Pewaukee High School. He married the love of his life Ruth on November 21, 1959. Walter's contagious personality earned him the nickname "Waukesha Wally." He has been a member of the Waukesha Elk Lodge 400 for many years. He loved attending and watching local sporting events.

 He will be deeply missed by his children Laura (John) Aldrich, Wayne (Paula) Evert, Sandi (Shawn Stangel) Hanson, grandchildren; Cara Aldrich, Katrina (Andy) Fox, Clayton (Monique) Hanson, Danielle (Dustin) Garrod, great grandchildren; Samantha Fox, Colton Hanson, Levi Hanson, Elyse Hanson, Mason Garrod, brother; Paul (Barbara) Evert. Walter is going to be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth, parents, Clarence and Violet, brother George (Bonnie) Evert, as well as son-in-law Kris Hanson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 9:30 am until the start of services at 11:30 am at Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral, 237 N Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188. Internment at Prairie Home Cemetery will follow services. Memorials appreciated to Easter Seals of Wisconsin for Respite Camp and Camp Wawbeek.
