Obituary of Wanda Wiedmann

Wanda Ann Wiedmann, our dear sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend, went to her eternal home on September 24, 2023.

Wanda was born July 6, 1951, to Harry and Rola (Arndt) Wiedmann in Circle, Montana.  She grew up in Burlington, WI, attended Northwestern Preparatory School (Watertown, WI) and graduated with a nursing degree from Milwaukee Country General Hospital, class of 1972. Wanda was a Registered Nurse for forty-five years, cherishing all aspects of nursing and advocating for her patients. She worked at Milwaukee County Hospital (later Froedtert) in neurology and oncology, respectively, and then at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in medical telemetry as an RN-3. Her home was in Waukesha.

Wanda’s loved ones especially wish to celebrate her life-long kindness and sensitivity, steadfast faith, resolute spirit, quiet wisdom, and devotion to family. She enjoyed her piano and books and could often be found in her garden or preparing treats for visitors. Many were blessed by her generous heart. Her family is grateful that she passed peacefully in her sleep. We are heartened by her Confirmation verse: “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine” (Isaiah 43:1). We will miss her always.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Rola Wiedmann. She leaves
behind siblings Lynn (Celeste), Sandra (Don) Dall, Tamara (Steven) Steiner, Joel, Tim (Yen
Lane Chen), Lorna (David Gebhard), and her beloved 15 nieces and nephews (and
their spouses), 24 grand nieces and nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Wanda will be held on Saturday, October 7, from 10:00 a.m. until the time
of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, 1941 Madison
St. Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Michael Turriff will be officiating.
