Obituary of Noryne E. Merkey

Noryne E. Merkey, of Waukesha, passed away on November 10, 2021 at the age of 54. Noryne was born on October 2, 1967, the daughter of James and Lillian Teske. She graduated from Waukesha North High School and received her associate’s degree at Milwaukee Area Technical College. A people person, Noryne worked in hospitality, managing several different retail stores throughout her career. She was a passionate Brewers fan and season ticket holder and an avid bowler and traveler. Noryne had a gracious heart, a positive spirit, and a contagious laugh. She always wore a smile and made others laugh no matter what she was going through. Lover of dogs, Noryne befriended any dog she would meet. Most of all, Noryne loved to surround herself with her family.

Noryne will be deeply missed by her husband, William J. Merkey; son, Ryan James Teske; step-daughter, Lizzy Merkey; father, James W. Teske; brother, James R. Teske; sister, Nadyne (Larry) Borucki; godchildren, Callie, Zachery, and Kaiden; great nephew and niece, Jaxon and Andrea; mother-in-law, Terry Nelson; sisters-in-law, Nicole (Kyle) Rodefer and Dori (Jon Prahl) Campbell; cousin/sister/tattoo partner, Corrine; and longtime best friend, Barb. She is further survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Noryne was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Teske and brother, William Teske.

The visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:00pm until the 6:00pm memorial service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. Please help the family celebrate Noryne’s life by wearing Brewers or purple.
