Obituary of David R. Hughes

David “Dave” R. Hughes, of Nashotah and formerly of Milwaukee, Delafield, Oconomowoc, and Waukesha, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the age of 76 due to deteriorating health issues over the last several years. Dave was born in Milwaukee on March 4, 1945. On April 17, 1998, Dave married the love of his life, Kathy Henke. He worked for over 20 years at Super Products in New Berlin as an assembly mechanic. Dave was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to sharpen his skills at the shooting range prior to his illness. Most of all, Dave was a devoted family man. His grandson, Hunter claimed him to be “My Papas”, and his step-daughters held a most important place in his heart. They were, in his heart, his own children. 

Dave will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy; step-daughter Kara (Chad Brest) Schulte; and grandchildren, Hunter Schulte and Elle Rae Brest. He will be greatly missed by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his dearest step-daughter Erica Rae Horner. 

A private gathering and service will be held for Dave.
