Obituary of Bette A. Kinziger

Brookfield, WI- Bette Anne Kinziger (nee Lemke), 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 19, 2020. She was born December 28, 1928 in Oconomowoc to the late Bruno Louis and Anna Maria (Liebig) Lemke. She married William W. Kinziger in Milwaukee in 1947 and together they had five daughters.

Bette worked in retail most of her life starting at Boston Store in downtown Milwaukee, Chapman’s at Brookfield Square, the Pfister Hotel Gift Shop, Erline's Cameras and as a house mother at the Friendship House in Milwaukee. Before retiring at the age of 70, she enjoyed working as a coat checker for special events at the Astor Hotel. Bette loved travelling especially to Florida to enjoy the ocean and she loved going to concerts and musical productions. She is survived by five daughters: Penny (John) Hicks, Gilbert, AZ; Patti (Richard) Hoffmann, Manitowoc; Priscilla Kinziger, Port Washington; Paula (Jeff) Stillman, Menomonee Falls; and Pamela (Simon) Monreal, Waukesha; as well as 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Margaret Mary Kinziger Parks, Scottsdale, AZ, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Anna, one brother, Edward John Lemke and her former husband Bill Kinziger.

Bette’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at New Perspective Assisted Living in Brookfield where she resided for a short time. There she felt safe, well cared for and happy.

Cesarz, Charapata, and Zinnecker Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. A private family service will take place on December 26. She will be buried at La Belle Cemetery in Oconomowoc.
