Obituary of Lynn Anderson

Lynn Anderson left us suddenly, but peacefully, on December 2nd, 2019 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was surrounded by a close-knit group of loving family and friends.

Lynn was born on February 3rd, 1956 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Rudolph and Shirley Woller. Growing up, she had a passion for horses and spent her summers riding the fields and getting dirt on her knees with her siblings—Dale, Kathie and Jeanne. She loved art and turned everything she touched to gold whether it was painting, decorating or friendship. As she entered her teens, her affection for art led her to University of Wisconsin-Madison where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree.

While at college, she met Rich Anderson, who she married in 1978. Years later, she had her son, Brandon, and daughter, Brittney. Her eagerness to learn steered her to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she completed her second degree, this time in education.

Lynn went on to teach in the Wisconsin school system for over fifteen years, touching the lives of many pre-school and kindergarten students. Most recently, she taught at Starms Discovery School in the Milwaukee Public School system where she was a K3 teacher for over fifty children. She is recognized for her gentle spirit and enthusiasm for the arts.

Lynn had an impressive taste in music, listening to the tunes of David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Talking Heads and many more. Listening beyond the music notes, Lynn dove deeper into the songs she loved by reflecting on their meaning. When she wasn’t teaching, Lynn spent her afternoons at her favorite coffee shop—Colectivo. By night, she spread her wings as a social butterfly and often went to see live music.

Lynn was a breast cancer survivor and her perseverance was shown in every avenue of her life. Her strength, positivity, and warmth will be greatly missed by her son Brandon, daughter Brittney, brother Dale, sisters Kathie and Jeanne, her partner David and many more.
