Obituary of Russel Moen

Russel “Russ” M. Moen, lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the age of 81. He was born on September 15, 1938 to Marion Alexander Moen and Dorothy Helen Graham. Russ proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in 1955 until he was honorably discharged in 1961. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, Russ worked as a roofer until his retirement.

Russ was an avid bicyclist and rode his bike throughout Wisconsin. He always enjoyed the game of baseball, and although he did not dislike any team, he supported the Brewers first. Russ was also a Packers fan and loved music, especially jazz and classical genres, and drawing. He doodled pictures for family and friends all the time. Russ was liked by everyone he met. He will be remembered for his kind soul, goofy personality, and his ability and love to make people laugh.

Russ will be deeply missed by Emily Jo Randall, his daughter of Russ and Ann Randall. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carole Moen who passed in 2007.

A memorial will be held privately by his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Radio Milwaukee, 220 E. Pittsburgh Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53204, Attn: Development Department, his favorite place to find a new tune.
