Obituary of Dorothy M. Pierson

Dorothy M. Pierson, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at Avalon Square on May 26, 2019 at the age of 96.  She was born on February 22, 1923, the daughter of William F. and Mabel M. (nee Rupp) Wolfgram.  She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1940.  After high school, she attended the Milwaukee School of Beauty Culture.  On August 20, 1949, Dorothy married the love of her life Robert Pierson. She worked as beautician for over 50 years in the Waukesha area retiring in 1992.  She was a longtime member of Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ.  She also volunteered her time at The Salvation Army.

Dorothy was involved in many clubs including the 500 Card Club and being a YMCA Peanut Lady. Her love of gardening led her to be a member of the Mary Gardeners from E & R Church. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, playing cards, swimming, dancing, traveling, sewing, and bowling.  Most of all, Dorothy treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was very active in the lives of her entire family.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children Deb Blackstone, Pat (Geno) Schlieve, and Tim (Lori) Pierson; grandchildren; Breanna (Nick) Wozniczka, Seth Blackstone, Desi Blackstone, Bobby Schlieve and fiancé Candi, Shane (Lisa) Schlieve, Melissa Pierson and fiancé Travis, and Ali Pierson; great grandchildren; Charley Wozniczka, Nora Pierson-Roy, Winter Schlieve, and lovingly anticipated baby Schlieve; sister-in-law; Shirley (the late Howard) Wolfgram and special nieces; Karen Egan and Toni Bacon, as well as many other extended family members and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers; Howard Wolfgram and William (Shirley) Wolfgram, sister, Evelyn (Bernie) Egan, and son-in-law, Jim Blackstone.

The visitation for Dorothy will be held on Sunday June 2, 2019 from 1:00 until the time of the service at 3:00pm at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd Waukesha, WI 53188. Pastor Bob Gross will be officiating. Burial will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, Dorothy wished for memorials to be made in her honor to the Waukesha Food Pantry, 1301 Sentry Dr., Waukesha, WI 53186 or The Salvation Army of Waukesha, 445 Madison St, Waukesha, WI 53188.
