Obituary of William Rostagno

William “Bill” Rostagno passed away January 9th 2019 at the age of 87 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Joseph and Viola (nee Meade) Rostagno in 1931. Bill worked for the Waukesha County Highway Department for 37 years. He was formally a Navy Boatswain Mate during the Korean War. He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time at his cabin. He married the love of his life Lillian (nee Huegel) in 1953, Bill took great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Jeff, Joe (Wendy), Mark (Pam), Margaret (Mike) Schneider, Annette (Paul) Gahlman, Jill (Ron) Dillman, Beth (Mike) Janke, son-in-law Rick (fiancé Angie) Rutlin, grandchildren Rostonia (Christian) Thilmany, Katelynn (Kyle) Goss, Bryce Richards, Paige Dillman, Garret Richards, Sarah (fiancé Jon) Selman, Emmy Rostagno, Emily Rostagno, Alex Rostagno, Marshall Dillman, Patricia Emslie, Kolton Emslie, Lily Dillman and six great grandchildren. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Rutlin and his brother Ward Rostagno.

A Gathering will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2019 at Cesarz Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home from 4 PM until 7 PM. Additional Gathering will be held on Thursday January 17, 2019 at St. Williams Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd Waukesha, from 10 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in Bill’s name, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
