Obituary of Joyce D Orton

Joyce D. Orton passed away on October 27, 2018 at the age of 88 at the nursing home at Linden Grove in Waukesha. She was born to Benjamin and Inez Due in Woodford Wisconsin. She was the oldest of five girls. The family moved to Monroe, Wisconsin, and Joyce graduated from high school in 1947. Joyce worked at a large building company and lumber company as a secretary until her marriage to Wilbert Orton in 1950. They have one son, Randy from Waukesha where they made their home. She worked at the Waukesha Motor Company in the pension and insurance department until her retirement. Joyce was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha for 61 years. She sang solos, duets, in the church choir, and at weddings and funerals. She loved music, loved singing, and above all, she loved her church. That was her life. Joyce always had a smile for everyone.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Wilbert, son, Randy, and sister, Marian. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. She will be sadly missed by her family and those who had known her.

The visitation for Joyce will be held on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 11:30a.m. until the time of the 12:30 p.m. memorial service at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. D. Andrew Fetters will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church are appreciated.
