Obituary of Betterae Riekkoff

Betterae Riekkoff was called home to join her heavenly family on February 4, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Milwaukee, WI on January 23, 1933, to Raymond and Cordia Wicke, she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Betterae looked forward to Dan and Dawn Baker's weekly visits, where they shared meals and played cards, creating moments filled with joy. A devoted member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha, she actively participated in Bible study and various volunteer activities, embodying a strong sense of community and faith.

A passionate Packers and Brewers fan, Betterae found joy in cheering for her favorite teams. She was a multi-talented individual who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, and indulging in trips to Culvers.

Her adventures with her second husband, Kenneth Riekkoff, took her to Europe and the Holy Land, collecting charms from each city for her cherished charm bracelet. Betterae's love extended to animals, and she must be overjoyed to reunite with her beloved cats, Casey and Missy, as well as her dogs, Tiffany and Midge.

Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vincent Roberts, and her second husband, Kenneth Riekkoff, Betterae is survived by her daughter Linda (Doug) Cosgrove. She will be lovingly remembered by stepchildren Matthew (Celeste Dawson) Riekkoff, Annette (Greg) Noeske, and Marcy Riekkoff, as well as grandsons Morgan and Auston Cosgrove, Kyle and Kurt Noeske, and Jason Riekkoff. Her sister, Graceann Kangas, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends will also deeply miss her.

A memorial service to celebrate Betterae's life will take place on February24, 2024, with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the start of services at 01:00 p.m. at Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home 237 N Moreland Blvd Waukesha, WI 53188. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Haws or a charity of choice.
