Obituary of Edward A. Sampon
Edward "Ed" A. Sampon
Of Oconomowoc, died on Fri., June 17, at the age of 85 years. Ed was born on Jan., 13, 1926 in
Milwaukee, WI to Edward and Elizabeth Sampon. Ed was a World War II Veteran of the United
States Army. He was a designer for the Everbright Company for forty years. Ed had a passion for
fencing and was a coach for Wauwatosa Fencing Club and Marquette University for many years.
He was an avid photographer whose talents were awarded by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
and Kodak.
Ed will be dearly missed by his children, Bob (Diane) Sampon, Mike (Kathy) Sampon, and Kathy
(Mark) Lawler; grandchildren, Shelly, Mathew, Kelsey and Kevin; brothers, Victor Sampon and Jim
Sampon; sister, Sr. Rosemary Sampon; and many other friends and family members. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Cecilia Knippel; parents; and brothers, Fr. Robert Sampon
and Tom Sampon. Visitation for Ed will be held from 9AM until the time of the 10:30AM Mass of
Christian Burial on Thurs., June 23, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd.,
Brookfield, WI 53005. Reverend Ken Knippel will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the
Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
