Obituary of Richard A. Gronquist
Richard A. "Rich" Gronquist
Entered into Eternal Life on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the age of 76 years. Richard was born
on March 31, 1935 in Aurora, IL the son of Edward and Catherine (nee Cooley). Richard was
educated in the West Aurora schools and received his B.S. degree in Journalism from the
University of Illinois. He was a member of Sigma Delta Chi - Professional Journalistic Fraternity.
He served with the United States Air Force as an information services specialist and spent 18
months in the Philippines. His professional career in public relations included William Eisner and
Associates, Image Management, Zigman, Joseph, Stephenson and Public Relations Services. His
music interests were at the University of Illinois, and the Bel Canto Chorus of Milwaukee. After
retirement, he followed his passion for duplicate bridge and won second place at a sectional
master category. ?
Richard will be dearly missed by his wife, Joan (nee Ernst); sons, David and Paul; sisters, Ruthanne
Shipman of IL and Janet Pfaff of GA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was
preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert Edwin Gronquist. ?
The Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held on Monday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m. at St.
William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Reverend Curt
Frederick will be presiding. The visitation will be on Sunday, August 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI
53188.
