Obituary of Monika Vredenburg

Monika E. M. Vredenburg unexpectedly passed away on February 16, 2022 at the age of 76.

Monika was born in Falkenberg Germany on April 20, 1945 where she lived until she was 5 years old. in 1950 she and her Mother travled to Ellis Island to join her Father to start a new life in America. She was worried that Kindergarten was going to be difficult for her since she only knew the German language but lucky for her, the Kindergarten Teacher was fluent in German and slowly she began to learn English.Monika was quite the crafter. She learned to knit when she was 3 years old. She knitted caps for the Newborns at the Hospitals, crocheting many Afghans for friends and relatives,  making lap blankets for the Elderly, blankets for pets and Booties, hats and blankets for anyone that was expecting. She was a proud member of the Red Hatters for the Cherry Bomb Chapter in Waukesha and dressed in her purple and red hats as often as she could. Monika was known for her witty sense of humor, quite the giver and her heart of gold,

She was a loving Wife to Roger Vredenburg, an excellent Mother to William (Cyndi) Lee and Mary (Jeffrey) Oldenborg, and an amazing Grandma/Oma to Nathaniel Oldenborg and Nikolaus and Jakob Lee, and a cherished dog owner to Lilly. She will be missed by all in the Vredenburg Family and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Elisabeth Roesser, Father, Karl Roesser and Brother, Karl Roesser II.

Monika's wishes were not to have funeral but there will be a memorial gathering for her at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the family.
