Alice Stowell

Obituary of Alice G. Stowell

Alice “Pat” G. Stowell (nee Greeley), of Elm Grove, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the age of 87. Alice, also known as Pat as a child, was born in Caldwell, WI on June 24, 1934, the daughter of Ezra and Helen Greeley. She and her six siblings lived on her father’s family farm until the early 1940’s. Pat and four of her siblings attended school in a two-room schoolhouse in Caldwell, WI. Once they reached ninth grade, they went to Mukwonago High School, where she met her husband, Dick.

Pat was able to stay at home to raise their four children, but occasionally, she took on part-time work. For several years during the fall, she worked as an apple picker at Rim’s Edge Apple Orchard. She also became involved at their children’s school, volunteering to help teachers with copying and working as a playground supervisor during the lunch hour. After her divorce with Dick, she worked her first full-time job assembling bikes for the Trek Bicycle Corporation where she worked for five years.

Pat was very artistic, enjoying painting and drawing. She shared her work with friends and family. She crocheted and embroidered, creating tablecloths for each of her children. She was quite a seamstress. Besides clothing, her work included the Halloween costumes that she created for her kids.

Pat will be deeply missed by her children, Laine (Diane) Stowell, Denise (the late Bill) Cage, Delight (Jeff) Morden, and DeAnn; grandchildren, Ralph, Abigail, Walter, Shawnna, Heather, Krista, Larry, Brett, Joshua, Rachel, Josiah, and Elizabeth; 24 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by siblings, Peter, Karen, James, and Nyla; other relatives and friends.  Pat was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Loreen and Phyllis.

The visitation for Pat will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 10:30am until the 12:00 Noon funeral service as Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker, 237 N Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. Rev.
