From Costa Rica I thank Mr. Tom Millard's family for allowing me a space. Tom's departure is difficult especially for his family and closest friends
I have fond memories of Mr. Millard and I will always be grateful to him for his selfless work with all the students, he always helped us and was very patient with the complaints we presented to him, he was very kind and understanding, he even opened the doors of his house for us to share experiences.
The time lived in Pewakee has been one of the best work tools and only with the help of people with great hearts like Mr. Millard will they always be a beautiful memory.

To the Millards, We are very sorry for the loss of your Dad. He and our Dad (John) were very close over their whole long lives. I only met Tom once or twice, but remember him as warm, kind and jovial. My Dad spoke of him often. They don't make guys like those two anymore. Your family is in our prayers.

Mark and I send our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Millard and the Arzberger and Millard families.
I am forever grateful for all that the Millards did to help two young girls, separated by Lake Michigan, to maintain our friendship. I always felt welcome in the Millard's home and have many fond memories.
If not for the pandemic, we would be there to offer our love and support.

Friend and colleague- Tom Millard
To have had the opportunity to be a friend with Tom has been something special, a rare opportunity. And it goes back many years to when Tom began teaching in Waukesha. New teacher, Tom, and new administrator, Chuck, gave us both much to talk about, (
,or was it commiserate?)
It is gratifying to feel that our friendship and the friendship that included our families continued and grew through the years.
Tom was in many senses an Everyman, embodying traits and characteristics beneficial to all and the ability and interest to share them.
Over the years and on many occasions and in many venues topics were discussed and opinions exchanged. One of the things about our friendship is that we concurred on many things. But the value of the friendship was equally based on where we may not have agreed and Tom’s ability to move a conversation forward to an mutually acceptable conclusion. I am sure that talent surfaced to great effect in every sphere of his influence from School Board to Church to WCTI. Much was learned from him by many.
The lunches at the Five O’Clock Club will be missed, but the memory of the friendship will last forever.
Thanks, Tom
Chuck and Maria Gobel

In 1982 Nan-yen Liao came to Waikesha Tech as a exchange teacher from Taiwan. Tom was looking for a host person for Nan-yen Liao. I was single, English is my second language and I lived in 20 miles away from school in Oconomowoc. I was very surprised when I found out I could host Nan-yen. Because of Tom Nan-yen and I became lifelong friends and I
thank Tom for giving me a opportunity to host her though it was only three months she lived with me. Thank you Tom and we both miss you very much.

Tom and Joe Bechard were great friends, both in Michigan and in Wisconsin. I believe Tom had a tribute corner in their home to the Green Bay Packers when he and his family lived in Michigan. Joe, of course, created a competing one to the Detroit Lions.
Both families lived near each other, so competition between both families was natural. Tom was then instrumental in bringing Joe to Wisconsin. They worked together on strategic data gathering and strategic planning before that became the norm in organizations.
When Susan Bechard was hired for a school principal position in Pewaukee, she would tell people she knew Tom. In typical Wisconsin fashion, they would respond, “if you are a friend of Tom, you must be OK!”
Tom and Janet and Joe and Susan enjoyed good times, watching games and sharing Friday night Wisconsin fish fries and conspiring to make the world a better place.
Thank you, Tom and Janet.
Susan Bechard

Today I celebrate your life! My fondest memories of you, my father (my pal) were the motorcycle rides we used to take, playing football in the yard, the family Risk games over Christmas vacation, and always the fierce allegiance and love that connected you and mom.Today I celebrate your life ,because without you I would never have learned the value of family, the lesson of being humble but never being afraid to speak my voice for what is morally correct, and for always being grateful for knowing we are all God's kids. You are the husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will never be forgotten. Your sense of humor and generous heart will never be more than "They call the Wind Maria" away!! Thank you for the extraordinary gift of being of being my dad.
