Geraldine Heil

Obituary of Geraldine Heil

Geraldine Victoria Heil (nee Dombrowski) passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 79. Born to Isadore and Helen Dombrowski (nee Cherek) on January 16, 1941. Geraldine was a beautiful soul that cared about others more than she cared about herself. She was a thoughtful woman who put others first and always thought of ways to help. Geri was known for sending cards to friends and family members and she was quick to offer assistance to those in need.  The love she had for her family was unimaginable. She would be the last to sit for dinner because she made sure that everyone was taken care of first.  Those of you who knew Geri know she battled many health problems over the years, but it never showed. She never complained. She always had a smile on her face that lit up the room. Geri lived a full life.

Geri worked as the Manager for the Hot Lunch Program at Holy Apostles Parish for over 20 plus years.  In her free time, Geraldine enjoyed spending time with family, going to the trailer at the Dells, visiting friends and family up north, playing cards, casino bus trips with her sisters, reading and socializing.  She loved her grandchildren and traditions with her family such as hosting Thanksgiving dinner, the Christmas Party, Easter Egg coloring, making resurrection rolls, the 4th of July fireworks, and baking Christmas cookies.

Geraldine will be truly missed by her husband of 58 years Theodore (Ted) and her children Troy (Luanne) Heil and Lisa (Mike) Heard; grandchildren Samantha, Jenna, Katelyn and Matthew. She is further survived by her sisters Barbara (Al) Moros and Rosie (Dan) Reid and her brothers Paul (Donna) Dombrowski and Walter (Amy) Dombrowski plus many nieces and nephews who all loved her.

A special thanks to the caring nurses and staff at Lake County Health Services and Aurora Summit Hospital.   We appreciate you making Geri’s days brighter and caring for her needs.
