Obituary of Joel Unruh

Joel M. Unruh, of Waukesha, passed away on December 28, 2019 at the age of 42. He was born on July 4, 1977, the son of Judith and James.  He married his wife Erin on October 19, 2003.  Joel was an avid Brewers fan and loved attending their games. He also enjoyed playing pool at Friendships Unlimited. He spent many hours enjoying video games and tinkering with his drum set and playing Cribbage with his brother Jay.  Sahara, his Siamese cat, was a special companion that he loved like a daughter.

Joel was a loving husband, caring brother, good friend and a kind soul.  He was loved by all who knew him. 

Joel will be deeply missed by his wife Erin, step-children Megean and Bill Grode; brothers, Damian Russell and twin brother Jay Unruh; Father, James (Barb) Unruh, In-Laws,  Paul and Doris Schreiber; Special aunts, Jackie Kuehn, and Mick Lundgren; his cat, Sahara, as well as many other extended relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Judith and James Russell; mother in law, Margaret Schreiber and grandparents, Earl (Gladys) Coates and Lloyd (Betty) Unruh.

Visitation for Joel will be held on Thursday January 2, 2020 from 12:00 noon until the start of the service at 1:00PM at Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.
