Obituary of Robert H. Fenske

Robert Herman Fenske went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2019 at the age of 95.  He was born on May 19, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI. He attended Boys Technical High School and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in accounting.  He entered the Air Force after high school and later married Arlene Ruth Bellamy on September 13, 1947, at St Elizabeth Church.  They went on to have five children and four foster sons, who were also his nephews.  He lived with the entire family in a small house in Hales Corners before moving to Waukesha in 1962.  There he was a Boy Scout leader where he enjoyed many camping and canoe trips with his sons and good friend, Bill McManus; as well as a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church Knights of Columbus.  From there he was offered a job in Houston where he continued to live for over 40 years before moving in with his daughter in 2014 to San Antonio.  While in Houston, he was a volunteer for over 30 years at MD Anderson and Memorial Hermann Memorial City campus hospitals, where he was also the Treasurer.  In Houston, he enjoyed camping on the beaches of Galveston, joined a bike club (he and mom biked from San Antonio to Houston with the club), travelled to places like Ireland, Hawaii, Europe and Egypt.  He was also quite the prankster and always joking with folks, never taking things too seriously.  He was 8th of eleven children of German parents, Bernard Fenske and Mary BIttl.

Robert leaves behind his daughter Mary of San Antonio, granddaughter Kimberly(Tracy ) Sanders of Austin Texas, great granddaughters; Kaitlyn, MaKenna & Lindsey, sons John (Sue) Fenske of Kingman, AZ, granddaughters; Dana & Michelle of Seattle; Ron Maron of Golden CO; sister Mary Bechmann of Milwaukee WI, and sister-in-law Frances Fenske of Neenah, WI. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Arlene who passed away in 2013, his beloved sons, Robert, Jimmy, Gerard, and foster sons Allen, Mike & Mark Maron.
