Obituary of John R. Holz

John R. Holz, of Eagle, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the age of 70. He was born on December 8, 1948 to Raymond and Corelle Holz. John spent his younger years growing up on Lake Tichigan where he enjoyed fishing, boating, and water skiing with his family. John found his passion for drumming in high school, and he joined numerous bands throughout the years, performing music in several different genres including rock and roll, polka, and country. After graduating in 1967 from West Milwaukee High School, he worked as a factory worker for P & H for 42 years until his retirement. 28 years ago, John followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the Tichigan Lake Lion’s Club where he honed his bingo calling skills and enjoyed working with his fellow lions in the community. John was a devoted family man and loved being Grandpa Tootsie and Grandpa Butter-Bitsy to his grandchildren.

John will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Sandra; daughters, Jessica (Dan) Holz and Kristi (Dave) Sentkowski; grandchildren, Gracyn, Joseph, Oriana and many pseudo-grandchildren; life-long best friend, Jeff (Debbie) Gajewski; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gregg Holz.

The visitation for John will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188 with the memorial service following at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Tichigan Lake Lions Club, 6710 Big Bend Rd. Waterford, WI 53185.
