Kit was like a brother to me and watching him deteriorate over the past several years was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. I know I could have done more for him, especially in the past year or so, but I don't feel as if I didn't do enough either. I have no regrets and I know 'my' Kit would understand. Kit was the most amazing person I'd ever met in that he had enormous amounts of bad things happen to him (losing his entire immediate family, for example) but would always have a smile on his face and a positive attitude to boot. He was always a light in my life. My husband and I just returned from visiting his family home down on 30th street where I was honored to live with Kit and his father for about a year in 1990. I am still alive today because of the way Kit and his father extended their home to me. I put a bunch of fresh flowers in the fence of the front yard as my personal memorial to Kit. For reasons I won't get in to, I will not be attending the services tomorrow. I know Kit is up there somewhere, realizes how important he was to me and how much I love him and he is totally cool with my decision. I will miss him and love him forever! Look forward to hanging out and listening to some old Genesis tunes with him someday...just like we used to do. Forever in my mind and heart, Love Jodi

My deepest sympathies to the family and all of those who knew Kit well. I can't even count the number of good times I've had hanging out with Kit, Andy, Julia, and others over the years. He was truly a gift to all of us with his antics and joyful nature and will surely be missed. I admittedly hadn't seen him in years and only knew of his medical situation through updates at times through Andy (Thanks buddy!) in large part because I live in Green Bay and foolishly lost touch. But given that, I will certainly keep Kit in memory while watching our beloved Packers this season knowing that we cheered and cursed them together at so many gatherings, usually while having adult beverages at the house Andy and Julia used to share. Then of course we also had the Brass Door, BrickYard (some of you know the nickname:) and other venues where we enjoyed drinking beer with Kit and sharing funny stories. Thank you to whomever wrote the very nice obituary pointing out Kit's wonderful traits as he was all that you said and more. He will be sorely missed and I pray that he finally has found the Holy Grail. Rest in peace my friend. Tom (Zelmo)
